- HALS (Tinuvin 770/765/292, Chimassorb 944/2020) — radical scavengers, excellent for films and long-term durability.
- UV absorbers (Tinuvin 326/327, Tinuvin 1577) — absorb UV; best in thicker parts and combined with HALS.
- Carbon black (Cabot carbon black) — the most effective and economical UV screen for black articles such as pipe and geomembrane.
How to choose by application
- Agricultural / greenhouse film → high-performance HALS, sometimes NOR-HALS for pesticide resistance.
- Automotive & visible parts → UVA + HALS for colour retention and gloss.
- Black pipe, cable, geomembrane → well-dispersed carbon black.
- Long service life → higher loadings and combined UVA + HALS systems.
