What is the difference between Irganox 1010 and 1076?

Irganox 1010 is a high-molecular-weight, tetra-functional phenolic for demanding high-temperature applications; Irganox 1076 is a lower-MW, mono-functional phenolic better suited to films, waxes and cost-sensitive formulations.

Can I use Irganox 1076 instead of 1010?

Sometimes — 1076 is more compatible and mobile but more volatile. For high-temperature or long-life parts, 1010 is usually preferred. Ask HexaChem for grade-specific advice.
